An emphasis is placed on the application of the problem-solving process to case populations and situations commonly found among human service agencies. Topical areas such as poverty and child welfare are incorporated into the knowledge base and skills acquisition of the course. Students are also introduced to understanding and working with divergent racial and ethnic groups.
