Session Cycle: Spring Yearly Cycle: Annual This course provides introduction to computer networks and investigates the design of computer networks and network protocols both from a conceptual and design standpoint. The primary focus is on concepts used to design scalable, general-purpose data networks. Major topics of the course will include: protocol layering, internet design principles and methodology, TCP/IP implementation, naming and addressing, unicast and multicast routing, congestion control and flow control, rate allocation policies, i.e., fairness, QoS, and advanced network protocols.
