Session Cycle: Fall Yearly Cycle: Every Other This course is an introduction to French literature and cultural studies. Cultural analysis will include discussion of French literature, history, art, politics, geography, immigration and gender issues. The media (newspapers, magazines, TV programs, films and popular music) will be an important part in the study of contemporary France, but students will also read excerpts of writers that represent the changing French identity in the European and Global perspective. Students will have the opportunity to improve their command of the language through discussion and exposes.
