This course provides a foundation in the principles and concepts of managing information resources in a global environment. The course focuses on alternative approaches to managing information resources such as computers, communication networks, software, data and information in organizations. Students will learn how multinational corporations are using IT to develop business solutions and obtain competitive advantage. Emphasis will be placed on viewing the organization in a global perspective, with the associated technological, cultural and operational issues that influence information resource management.
