Topics will include foundations of the database approach, objectives of this approach, advantages and disadvantages of database processing. A major emphasis will be placed on the Relational Database Model and will include techniques for designing and normalizing a Relational Database. Student projects will include developing application software using a database system. Second-semester junior standing is required.
