3 credits Terms offered: Fall, Spring, Summer This course gives the student a better appreciation and understanding of mathematics with a minimum of algebraic manipulation. Topics may be selected from the following: sets, logic, congruencies, elementary number theory and number systems. Three class hours a week. Prerequisite: A passing score on the arithmetic placement test or MTH 01 as a pre- or co-requisite. A passing score on the elementary algebra placement test and a grade of “C-” or better in high school algebra I, or a grade of “C-” or better in MTH in, or a passing grade in MTH 0
