3 credits Terms offered: Fall, Spring, Summer This course examines the dramatic changes that occurred in the economic, political, intellectual, and social lives of people from the end of the Middle Ages to the era of the French Revolution. The rise of capitalism, the fall of absolute monarchies, the diversification and evolution of religious beliefs, and the movement of peoples, ideas, and commodities around the world make this time period key in understanding the development of the modern world.
