Application of altered scales derived from melodic and harmonic minor in performance with prerecorded rhythm section tapes. Melodic embellishment and phrasing, comping, and rhythm techniques relevant to rock/flamenco, fusion, Latin/rock, samba, and jazz waltz. Midterm and final projects: student performance of solo with accompanying comping or rhythm part.
