A continuation of MUS 122 with an introduction to species counterpoint and emphasis on chromatic harmony of the 18th and 19th centuries. Prerequisite: MUS 122 with a minimum grade of C-, or permission of instructor. Co-requisite: must also register for MUS 123L. Credit: 4 semester hours. Note: A letter grade of at least C- must be attained in MUS 123 in order to count for graduation as a music major.
