hours. This course is an introduction to the sociological analysis of diversity in the United States, with particular emphasis on ethnic/racial, gender/sex, and social class issues. Through reading, writing, discussion, and co-curricular activities, students will develop a better understanding of the various facets of a pluralistic American society. Enrollment is limited in order to enhance participation. The primary goal of the course is to provide a foundation for living in an increasingly diverse American society.
