hours. This course is designed to meet the General Education Capstone Course requirement. This course will examine crime, justice, and civic life from historical, comparative, social science, and contemporary cultural perspectives. Topics will include law and society, violence in America, criminal subcultures, drug policy, essential issues in criminal justice, mass media and crime, and citizen involvement in criminal justice. Prerequisite: at least 78 credit hours and seven of nine required Liberal Studies courses. See the General Education section of the Catalog for a complete description of the capstone requirement. General Education Credits [ GE2000: Capstone Course (majors only)] *Open to graduate students. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature.
