Introduces the student to the fundamental principles of descriptive and inferential statistics, with an emphasis on the analysis of nominal and ordinal data. These areas include non-parametric tests of signifi cance, scaling, coding, and a discussion of hypothesis construction. This course should be taken during the sophomore year. (Credit in either Political Science or Sociology.) PR is a grade of C or better in MATH 1100 or higher.
