In this course students will learn adult and pediatric basic like support skills CPR and study the numerous health and safety issues associated with health care facilities. The topics include but are not limited to: OSHA standards, emergency preparedness, fi re safety, electrical safety, compressed gas safety, tuberculosis/respiratory protection, blood borne pathogens and biological hazards, potential chemical and drug exposures, ergonomic hazards from lifting and repetitive tasks and how to safely handle these potential hazards. This course may be repeated for re-certifi cation purposes.
