The elements and principles of two-dimensional design are explored in this Foundations course. Students learn the vocabulary of twodimensional design, and apply scholarly responses to visual images. Students explore, through visual problem-solving, issues of composition, color theory, content, and presentation. Students work with a variety of two-dimensional media in this studio course. Reading and writing assignments accompany studio coursework.
