Description:
A study of the structure, properties, and metabolism of the major groups of biological importance, with special emphasis on the role of those compounds required in diet: proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and vitamins. In addition to presenting the chemistry of major cellular constituents, the course will also cover enzymologist, the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and important nutrients. Problems of metabolic regulation in relation to nutrient intake will also be discussed.
