Description:

The art and architecture of the Roman Empire, from the pre-Roman Etruscan civilization in the 500s B.C. to the rise of Late Antiquity after the reign of Constantine the Great. Focus is on the major developments of Roman culture, including portraiture, historical relief, luxury objects, architecture, and engineering projects. Exploration of fashions and trends set in the Imperial city of Rome, as well as the development and interpretation of these trends in the Roman provinces.
