(Also WMS 286) 4 hours; 4 credits This course introduces students to broad themes in American Women’s History from colonial times to the present and focuses on women as historical actors and on the historical forces shaping the construction of womanhood. The course will pay particular attention to differences among women with respect to race, class, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.
