Some treatment of determination of optimal types and amounts of government expenditure on goods and services, but greater emphasis on various types of taxation examined for equity, efficiency, role in fiscal policy, and effect on productive effort. Some attention to standards of income distribution and to inter-governmental fiscal relationships in the United States. Prerequisite: ECO 210
