6 laboratory hours; 3 credits Methods in the cloning, expression, isolation, and analysis of nucleic acids (RNA and DNA) and recombinant proteins; introduction to computer methods and analysis in biotechnology; DNA sequencing and sequence analysis; experimental approaches for the analysis of regulation of gene expression including transfection, report analysis, etc. Prerequisites: BIO 205, CHM 142, and CHM 127 Pre- or corequisite: BIO 327.
