4 hours; 4 credits This course will explore the work of an artist of established historical importance as well as the context in which the artist worked and the arthistorical and art-theoretical issues bearing on our effort to understand that artist. May be repeated for credit with the approval of the instructor. Prerequisites: ENG 151; and ART 200 and ART 201 and a 300-level art history course, or permission of the instructor.
