A close reading and analysis of representative works by writers who formed the group known as the Generation of 1898: Miguel de Unamuno, Antonio Azorín, Pío Baroja, Ramódel Valle-Inclán, and Antonio Machado, among others. The course will attempt to analyze their special development of universal literary themes and the evolution of their personalized style. (Fall) Prerequisite: any Main Currents course.
