Close readings and analysis of epics, lyrics, dramas and sacred texts, with an eye to literary form and style as well as content. Discussion of appropriate literary concerns, such as heroism, divinity, sacrifi ce, duty and justice. Prerequisite: ENG 102 or ENG 201
