Fall and Spring Semesters Strengthens the student’s ability to define a topic and to support ideas with evidence. Emphasis on writing organized, coherent, unified essays for different audiences and in different formats, and on producing carefully proofread final drafts. Themed sections offer students the option of focusing on a particular area of study. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ES 1060, or demonstrated proficiency on the Writing Inventory.
