Fall and Spring Semesters Sign Language is a basic course in American Sign Language and other sign communication used by Deaf people and some hearing- impaired people in the United States. This course will help students: 1) acquire a basic skill level expressing and receiving American Sign Language, and 2) acquire a general knowledge and sensitivity to communication issues and human rights issues involving deaf and hearing impaired people, and an understanding and appreciation of Deaf culture in America.
