This course provides an introduction to interpreting history, terminology and processes, ethics and etiquette, interpreter evaluation, and interpreting in a variety of specialized settings. Primary emphasis is on interpreting as a profession with some attention given to transliterating processes. Information on local resources for deaf people and interpreters will be shared with students. This is a lecture/class discussion course which will be conducted in American Sign Language.
