This course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of TCP/IP communications protocol. The student will be introduced to the concepts of OSI layers, TCP/IP protocol, local LAN connection, Internet addressing, gateways, bridges, routers, domains, and NFS/PCNFS. The student will become familiar with many communication commands. The student will learn the installation of TCP/IP on the UNIX system, TCP/IP daemons, TCP/IP on PC's running DOS, and the establishment of connections between UNIX hosts and PC's.
