This is a basic course in the visual communicative media of the engineer which presents the essentials of graphic construction in terms of contemporary drafting practices. Emphasis in this course is placed upon the ability to visualize, analyze, and reason, as well as upon skill and accuracy. The course includes the use of drafting equipment, axonometric and oblique projections, shop processes, dimensioning, orthography, pictorials, auxiliaries, sections, size description, and detailed work in machine drafting. The course centers on the specialized areas of engineering graphics, such as structural, electronic, and architectural drafting, and creative industrial design related to the interests of students.
