This course will expand the student's understanding of color through a thorough exploration of Johannes Itten's fundamental color theory principles. Through lecture, demonstration, studio projects, reading assignments and analysis of work by some of the great masters of Western painting, the student will learn about the color circle and the seven color contrasts.
