This is an introductory course in fresco painting. Students will learn fundamental fresco making skills and will study great eras of fresco making. By studying historical examples of fresco painting and recreating portions of them on small fresco panels, students will master techniques associated with panel preparation, color mixing, painting with dry pigments, faux gilding, aging and distressing.
