The history of Western art and architecture from the fifteenth century to the present. Included are the arts of the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Romantic, Impressionist and Modern periods. Museum visits and extensive reading. Required for fine arts majors. Meets Gen Ed 2002 - Humanities, World Literature or General Humanities. Meets the 1983 General Education Requirement (GER) - Fine and Performing Arts: Art Appreciation. Meets the University Writing Requirement for FAAH, FAED, FASF, FASH, FASI, FASL and FAST majors. 3 hours lecture.
