Paid part- or full-time experience for one or more semesters in the office of a public official in national, state, or local government; a candidate for public office; a political party; or private firm or organization. Assignments depend upon the interest of the student and convenience of the sponsors. Prerequisite: political science majors and minors, POLS 130, 237, and one from POLS 342, 350, 431, or 473. For legal assistance and legal studies majors, POLS 244; permission of the department chairperson or program coordinator. A total of 6 hours of credit may be earned.
