An overview of management information systems is presented; including IS managerial concepts and information system support of functional areas of business. Concepts include alignment of information systems strategy with organizational strategy, MIS components and organizational structures, issues in the design and implementation of systems, and understanding the role of information systems in organizations. Emphasis is placed on the solution of real world problems faced by managerial end users through the use of advanced spreadsheet design and analysis. Class/Lab hrs. 4. Prerequisite: DP 103 Computer Information Systems.
