Draws on anthropological research in Europe to examine the ways in which European societies have managed to preserve much that is unique even as they adapt to new circumstances. Students read several ethnographic accounts of European culture to define social contours of greater Europe. Prerequisite: AN101, AN113 or AN230 or permission of instructor.
