The art of India, Japan, China, and their peripheries. The objective of the course is threefold: to acquaint the Western student with a new artistic language; to examine historically the stylistic changes of Eastern art (Bronze, Sculpture, Calligraphy, Painting); and to interpret art as manifestations of cultural and historical ideas. Spring in rotation.
