The introduction to the art and discipline of sumi-e, Oriental Ink Painting, through the study of the four traditional subjects: orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum. Emphasis will be placed on acquiring skill with specific brush strokes, composition and concentration. Study and analysis of ancient and contemporary masterworks of Oriental painting will be included. For the beginning and continuing students of sumi-e. Materials fee.
