Spring Semester Taken in the fall or spring semester of the senior year. In the Literature and Graduate Tracks, an oral defense based on one critical paper written by the student on a work selected by the English faculty, oral analysis of a work selected by the student, and explication of a poem chosen by the English faculty. For the Writing Track, presentation of a body of the student’s original creative work, a literacy autobiography, and a written and oral analysis of a text chosen by the English faculty.
