An introduction to painting in oil paints on panels and stretched canvas. Emphasis will be given to basic color theory, the medium’s individual characteristics as applied to the craft of painting, and methods and techniques concerning the rendering of forms and space according to the principles of observational representation. Work executed in class will consist of the still life genre. Materials fee. Prerequisite: FA201 or permission of instructor.
