History and technique of stage lighting. Elementary electrical and optical theory as related to stage lighting. Characteristics and control of light and color for the stage. Techniques for drawing lighting plots, schedules, and cue sheets. Mechanics of lighting instruments, lighting control, and color media. Thirty hours of production lighting work outside of classroom time is required. Prerequisite for TH262: TH261 or permission of instructor.
