This course focuses on the legal and financial requirements of residential real estate transactions. It examines deeds, contracts, mortgages, and other documents commonly associated with real estate. Students learn the historical background which makes real estate unique, along with a practical understanding of the different local practices affecting its purchase and sale. Some basic math skills are helpful in understanding surveys, the proper calculation of taxes, and the settlement statement. Prerequisite: LEX 111 3/0/0 FA Course fee charged
