This course is designed to introduce the student to a rich selection of world literacy texts spanning from Renaissance and modern masterpieces which have been selected from European and non-Western literary traditions. Each student will employ critical thinking and analysis to determine the political, historical, social and religious significance of the literary works while developing an awareness of literary elements that contribute to the texts' transcendent quality.
