3 Credits (3 Lecture 0 Lab 0 Shop) 3 Hrs/Wk (3 Hrs. Lecture) *15 wks This is an introductory course in statistics. No previous experience in the understanding or use of statistics is assumed. Topics of study include: descriptive statistics, probability and probability distributions, sample sizes and hypothesis testing, dependent and independent samples, correlation and regression and analysis of variation. Other topics such as statistical process control may be included as time permits. Some computer literacy is assumed. Prerequisite(s): MAT 100 or minimum 50th percentiles on Arithmetic and Algebra Assessment & Placement Tests, and Algebra I & II (C or better), or Math SAT 480.
