3 credits This is an introductory algebra course for the student who has little or no background in algebra. Beginning in fall 2006, it is considered a foundation class and does not fulfill a graduation requirement. Topics include operations on real numbers and variable expressions, solving equations, polynomials, graphing of linear equations, and techniques of problem solving. Prerequisite: MAT100 or placement. Fall and spring.
