This course will allow students to understand the development of American Studies from the early history and literature syntheses to the symbol and myth school to the social and cultural studies approaches that have drawn their techniques from anthropologists and other social and natural scientists. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: At least 18 hours of courses approved in the American Studies Program, including AMS 2000 and AMS 3000, or graduate-student status in any participating department.
