A topical introduction to the visual arts: painting, architecture, sculpture and the crafts. Discussions and slide presentations on such themes as the meaning of modern art, art as cultural and sociological expression, as symbol, as play and as form. This course will enable the non-art student to develop an art vocabulary and gain insights into our human quest for creative expression. This course meets Area I, Fine Arts, General Education requirement. Credits: 3 hours
