This course will focus on two major areas of electronic design. First, we will study effective implementation of circuit board designs to address the technical issues in Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The second area will include a study of solid-state devices and digital circuits. Technical discussions will explore advantages and disadvantages of SMT, SMT processes and equipment, design tools and guidelines, internal circuit structure and device operation, and defect analysis. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: CENM, EENM, or ELCD admission. Credits: 3 hours
