A study of the effects of family, peer group, and society on the development of young children. Emphasis will be placed on family styles and child-rearing practices and their effects on learning and other behavior. Family constellations, the learning of sex roles, the effects of divorce, and similar phenomena will be studied. Consideration will be given to the effect of cultural and subcultural differences on early childhood development and students will look at the contemporary American scene as it affects young children. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: ED 3090. Credits: 3 hours
