An introduction to statistical methods and techniques used in the acquisition and analysis of economic data. Data acquisition topics include collection and preparation techniques, survey design and sampling. Students will be familiarized with several government and private economic data sets and their strengths and weaknesses. Data analysis topics emphasize statistical methods used to analyze economic data such as descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing and regression analysis. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: ECON 2010, ECON 2020, MATH 1180 or equivalent. Credits: 3 hours Semester Offered: Fall
