This course will develop an understanding of how children learn, from birth through early adolescence. Emphasis will be placed on major learning theories, on the growth of positive self-concepts, and on the cognitive styles of these age levels. Students will examine the effects of cultural and gender differences and of discrimination on learning. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: Admission to professional program in education.
