The study of the development and diversity of the novel as a literary form. Emphasis will be on the novel from the eighteenth- to the early twentieth-century. Attention shall be paid to the critical and theoretical bases of interpretation. This course is approved as a writing-intensive course which may fulfill the baccalaureate-level writing requirement of the student's curriculum. Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Two courses that count toward the English major at the 3000-level. Credits: 4 hours
