A course that uses a direct approach to introduce students to their cultural world by guiding them through first-hand experiences in a number of arts: cinema, photography, theater, sculpture, music, poetry, dance, and architecture. Classroom discussions are held following the students' participation in the various art events scheduled each semester, with students expected to write journals or response papers about the major events of the course. There will be a course charge in lieu of textbooks. Cross-listed with ART 1480, DANC 1480, THEA 1480. May be taken only once from College of Fine Arts Departments. Credits: 4 hours
